Vector File
Also known as: Vector Graphic, Vector Logo
A logo file made of mathematical paths, not pixels — scales to any size without losing quality.
Vector graphics are made of points, lines, and curves defined by math. Because they are not made of pixels, they can be scaled from a business-card logo to a billboard with zero loss of quality. The standard vector file types are .ai (Adobe Illustrator), .eps, .pdf, and .svg.
Print shops always prefer vector artwork. Vector logos can be cleanly separated into spot colors for screen printing, scaled for embroidery digitization, or rasterized at any resolution for DTG/DTF without becoming blurry.
If you only have a JPG or PNG of your logo, ask the print shop to recreate it in vector — most charge $25–$50 for a logo trace and the file becomes yours to keep. It is one of the highest-ROI moves any small business can make.
