Combed Cotton

Cotton that has been combed to remove short fibers and impurities — softer and more durable.

Combed cotton is cotton that has been mechanically combed before spinning, removing short fibers, debris, and impurities. The resulting yarn contains only the longest, finest fibers, which produces a smoother, softer, and stronger fabric than uncombed cotton.

Most premium garment tags will read "100% combed ringspun cotton" — the two processes work together. Examples: Next Level Apparel, Bella+Canvas, Comfort Colors, AS Colour.

Combed cotton typically costs 20–40% more at the wholesale level than basic cotton. For brand merch or fashion drops where the perceived quality matters, the upgrade is almost always worth it.
